our friends

A fan club is nothing without friendship. Friendship that connects and supports. Here we're going to introduce to to you our friends and partners.

Anthony Donahue

more commonly known as AnthonyMSG, is a Knicks superfan that we have gotten to know through social media over the past few years.

We had the pleasure of meeting him and are now proud to call him a full member of our Knicks Nation Germany family.

Anthony attended every Knicks home game for more than the past 20 years. He hosts fan events, has been active on radio shows, had his own podcasts, and calls many former Knicks players his friends.

But what makes him really special is that he raised his little sister Gianna all by himself. The two had an inseparable bond. At the age of ten Gianna unfortunately was diagnosed with brain cancer. She fought for years and years, always supported by her bigger brother, who did everything he could for her. The Knicks community from all over the world came together to help. The hashtag #WinForGianna was born. She won that fight and showed the world that the community is about more than basketball.

In October 2019 Gianna, now 20 years old, unfortunately suffered a severe stroke, caused by a fast-growing brain tumor and was diagnosed with one of the worst forms of brain cancer. She suffered every day from then but refused to give up and always had a smile on her face, no matter what.

During our New York trip in March 2020, our president DJ was invited by Anthony and Gianna to visit them at their home. He didn’t hesitate a second and visited them in the Bronx. They shared a few gifts and had an incredibly great time together.

Unfortunately, Gianna lost her battle with cancer on August 29, 2020.

She’s been a great person and role model for all of us.
It’s rare to meet somebody like that being able to put a smile on your face in the worst hour.

You’ll always be in our hearts Gianna.

Rest in power.
